Policies, Terms and Procedures

OVERVIEW

We are passionate about boating! Helping our Members create amazing memories on the water is our mission. The basic principle behind the sharing economy is to enable you to experience more of what you love without the pain and full expense of boat ownership. We want to run Wake Sports Colorado in a way that maximizes our Member's return on investment. The idea behind these policies is to keep costs low for our Members and help the club achieve its goals! Thank you for being a part of Wake Sports Colorado and for your continued support while we redefine boat ownership.

Required and Suggested App Use

Wake Sports Colorado services will be available on your mobile and desktop applications. This includes (but is not limited to) reservations, check-in's, and check-out's. Member use of the app will be required during your boating trip and will replace our manual inventory checks. Any violations/non-usages of the app may be required to pay a custom equipment fee to cover the cost of a manual inventorying of the boat to confirm no missing or damaged items. You can still use our call in service to for scheduling, modifying or canceling a boat reservation. However, we ask that all Members use the applications provided when able!

*Note* In the future, if you are interested in on-lake swaps instead of a boat pickup, you may be able to opt in during your reservation if schedules allow. If Members within consecutive time frames select this service, they will be able to meet at the lake to drop off/pick up the boat instead of having to go to the storage facility. Check out-processes will still be the same and the boat must be cleaned before transferring it to the next Member.

Gear and Tubes

Wake sports Colorado will provide basic boat gear that is left in the boats.

Tubes will no longer be included in the Gear.

Members are able and welcome, to bring their own tubes and we will make sure a pump and rope are still available on all boats. We reserve the right to remove/add gear as needed.

Cleanliness

Nobody wants to be in a dirty boat. We have gone to great lengths to detail and add ceramic coating to the boats in our fleet. Clean boats are an essential part of the club.

● Members are responsible for cleaning the boat after each use; you also have the option to pay to have the boat cleaned for $150. Cleaning services should be arranged at the time you schedule the boat.

● Members need to bring their own towels to clean and wipe down the boat.

● Cleaning solution (Hot Sauce) will be under the seat by the ropes. This solution can be used for all the boat cleaning needs.

Keeping the boats clean is the responsibility for every Member.

Every new reservation will include a cleanliness rating. All cleanliness ratings will be captured through the mobile application. Wake Sports Colorado has created a description of what constitutes a 1 star rating through a five star rating. Any Member that ends the season with a 2 star rating or less will be subject to a fair detailing fee. Keeping the boats clean is the responsibility of each Member for their booking. Please take the extra 15 minutes to wipe boats down, you wouldn’t want to start your day in a dirty boat and neither does any other Member. It helps maintain a higher value, increases the enjoyment of being on the boat, and reduces costs to the club, which ultimately helps all the Members.

We have a 1 star to 5 star rating system. We understand that a lot of cleaning judgement is subjective and we all have different levels of cleanliness in our lives. Our number one goal is to keep the boats clean and nice for everyone to use. We are all in this together and we can all enjoy a great boat together if we all do our part.

STAR RATING SYSTEM

1-STAR: the boat wasn’t touched, cleaned, wiped down and just looks terrible INSIDE AND OUT. Food in the seats, crumbs all over the floor, etc. If you receive this rating from the next Member, you may be charged a $200 cleaning fee and $120 of that will be credited to the Member who cleans up after you. If you receive two 1* ratings you will not be able to schedule a boat without doing another cleaning orientation for $399 OR you will simply have to schedule a cleaning after each time you take the boat and will be required to pay the $200 detail fee each time you take out the boat.

2-STAR: the boat is dirty but mainly the inside or the outside alone. It will require quite a bit of time to clean up but isn’t as bad as a one star rating. If you receive this rating from the next Member, you may be charged a $99 cleaning fee and $75 will be credited to the Member who cleans up after you. If you receive three 2* ratings you will not be able to schedule a boat without doing another cleaning orientation for $399 OR you will simply have to schedule a cleaning after each time you take the boat and will be required to pay the $200 detail fee each time you take out the boat.

3-STAR is a boat that was cleaned but not super well but we can tell that you at least

tried….albeit a little. There will be a phone call to discuss this situation with a Wake Sports Colorado cleaning supervisor.

4/5 -STAR ratings are great and we thank you for keeping our boats clean and in good condition. We appreciate you for taking time to make sure you clean up after yourself and making sure the next Member has a great experience. When you receive a 5* rating you may be highlighted in our newsletter and or weekly communication. You will also be entered into a drawing for different gear such as a surfboard, wetsuit, or $ in boating gear.

Pets

We all love animals, however due to health concerns with allergies and other unforeseen medical complications of Members, and potential damage pets can do to a boat, animals of any kind are not permitted on any Wake Sports Colorado boat. Reports or evidence of any pets/animals will result in an assessed detail fee of at least $99, along with charges for any replaced seadeck or vinyl replacement and any other possible damage. If multiple infractions occur, the Member may be placed on probation and not allowed to schedule another boat.

Late Returns

Nothing is worse than waiting on a boat, and any Members that are found returning a boat

after the designated time while another Member is waiting may be subjected to a fee. Members that find themselves waiting on a boat from another Member will be compensated with these fees.

● We ask for your help in accommodating each other's needs. Be on time! We are trying to avoid the situation where someone who is at Lake Powell in some faraway place decides they just want to keep the boat even though their reservation is over and bring the boat back late because they are on “Lake Powell time”.

We are all in this club together and the more respect we have for one another the better experience we will all have. Please be respectful of others' reservations and thank you for working together to make this club work.

Cancelling Reservations

We ask that all Members submit cancellations through our mobile or desktop applications. Missed reservations or cancellations can mean missed reservation opportunities for other Members. Any cancellations that are not completed 24 hours before the check-in time will

result in a Member’s ‘scheduled time’ being deducted from the total amount they are allotted regardless of boat usage. It is the Members responsibility to watch for unpleasant/dangerous weather. Although unfortunate if cancellations are due to weather, the same policy applies. We recommend checking the weather periodically before your scheduled day so that any large storms can be accounted for and cancellations can be made accordingly.

Safe Boating

The safety of our Members is our top priority.

Anytime Members boat, they do so at their own risk. Members are responsible to have the proper gear to ensure a fun and safe boating experience and all laws must be followed at all times. Any tickets, citations, and/or fees the Member receives, for any reason, during your scheduled time are to be covered by the Member up to and including missing items that were discovered during check-in. Members should not launch a boat if it is not safe to do so. A Member who is found to have received a citation will be reviewed to determine whether they are still eligible to remain in the club.

Please be aware! Early and late season boating can be life threatening; Members should use extreme caution when boating in cold water temperatures. As a Member you can purchase wet/dry suits from the club at a 30% discount. Please contact us at gear@inlandboatclub.com if this is something you would like to know more.

In the Spring at Lake Powell and other lakes there are lots of floating logs and other debris. Keep your head on a swivel and save yourself a bunch of money replacing propellers and drive shafts. That could be thousands of dollars YOU will pay for repairs.

Towing Area

Per our insurance policy, Wake Sports Colorado fleet boats are ONLY permitted in the following states, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, Montana, Colorado and California. A list of approved lakes will be on the scheduling app and website. Any lakes that are not included on our website will need to be approved in writing, by Wake Sports Colorado and our insurance partners. Boats are never to be used in saltwater; they are not coastal editions.

Most of our boats are in a centralized location at storage facilities near lakes in Colorado. As a Member you are responsible for any towing that must be done or you can arranging towing with Wake Sports Colorado directly via a valet or with another company. Any charges incurred by third parties are your responsibility. Our valet service rates are below for local lakes in the ‘Paid Services Pricing’ section of this document.

Guaranteed Locations and Types or Sizes of Boats

We will try to keep boats in the most convenient locations possible for easy access to local lakes and those lakes determined as ‘Destination Lakes’. You may have to tow one from another location. If a boat is not available at your desired lake you can utilize one of the many stow and tow boats located in other throughout Colorado. If you want a boat delivered, we do offer delivery and pickup subject to our ‘additional services’.

  • Delivery and pickup is $125/each plus $2 per mile from the storage location of that specific boat for each way.

Boats are booked on a first come first serve basis. We will try to accommodate as best we can to get you a specific boat for your trip. However, we do not guarantee any size or type of boat specific to your request. Any boats that are available can be used for your trip, if they are not available, we apologize.

Lost/Broken Gear

We understand accidents happen, unfortunately, the Wake Sports Colorado gear may break due to misuse or accident. Manufacturer defects are covered by manufacturer warranty and Wake Sports Colorado takes great care in choosing high quality products to use on the boats. However, in the event of broken gear (surfboard dropped on the pavement and cracked, pump needle snapping, etc.) it is your responsibility to report it through the app. The Member at fault will also be responsible to replace the equipment (you may keep the broken equipment if you choose). Missing gear is a large cost to our club each year and the app now has the ability to help us track what is present and what is missing. This is done each time a Member checks in and out. Any damage to the boat or gear must be reported through the notes section of the check-out process of the app. The club depends on the honesty of the Members. Please proactively call Wake Sports Colorado to pay for any lost/broken gear.

Travel Days

Members may choose to take advantage of the benefit of towing boats to approved lakes. When a boat is scheduled the pickup time and drop off time include any time spent towing. Members are allowed one towing day at the beginning and end of time designated on the water. This is also subject to Wake Sports Colorado approval.

Fuel Charges

Members who do not refuel the boats with PREMIUM 91 OCTANE gasoline after each use will be charged $50 plus the cost of the fuel. It is inconvenient for everyone when this happens. Please make it a habit to refuel the boat.

Engine Hours - Please turn off the engine

We will measure engine hours on the boats in our database through the check-in and check-out process. Engine hours depreciate a boat more than any other factor which increases costs.

Running the boat in idle puts unnecessary depreciation on the boats. PLEASE SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AS OFTEN AS YOU ARE ABLE. IF SOMEONE IS GETTING IN/OUT OF THE WATER; RESTING AND SWIMMING; HANGING OUT IN THE WAKELESS ZONE, OR ANYTHING ELSE,

PLEASE BE ATTENTIVE AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. We would rather change a starter here and there than lose money in depreciation. High engine hours on a boat reduces the resale price of our fleet. Keeping hours reasonable while still having a great time on the water is the goal.

Reducing engine idle time is the best way to keep hours low on our boats. All of the boats have engine analytics which indicate how many hours the engine was idling.

We will continue to analyze how the boats are used and modify things to fairly charge for these depreciating assets.

Boat Damage/Trailer Damage

All damage to the boat, and trailer will be paid in full by the Member up to $5,000. The Member will have 15 days to make payment to Wake Sports Colorado to recharge the deductible that was used for damage. Member will not be able to reserve ANY days on a boat until the damage is paid in full and the insurance deposit is refilled. Each Member starts off with the $1000 deductible you’ve paid upfront, for every offense after the first offense, the amount required to be on hold with us will increase by $1000. The second offense is $2,000 on reserve. The third offense is $3,000 and so on. Any Member that experiences excessive claims may be reviewed and removed from the club. Just to be clear- THE $1,000 DEDUCTIBLE IS NOT A LIMIT FOR THE COST YOU MAY BE CHARGED IF YOU DAMAGE THE BOAT.

Items such as dock wear/rub/dings may not be fixed immediately. Timing of repairs will be determined at the discretion of Wake Sports Colorado. If multiple Members damage common areas of the boat and Wake Sports Colorado determines not to fix it immediately, the Members will split the costs evenly when the time for repair comes.

Drop in Days

Drop in days may be used only after all prime and regular days are exhausted for the year.

● Drop in days can be scheduled after 12 PM the day before you take the boat or the same day if the boat isn't scheduled.

● App check-in and check-out features still must be used. There may be a $50 charge if the app isn’t used for each reservation.

Scheduling Timeframes / Boating Days / Reservations

Wake Sports Colorado calendaring season runs from Jan 1st to December 31st each year. Some southern lakes may be offered year-round for those with personal specialized equipment to boat in extreme cold conditions. If a Member wishes to use the boat during these seasons it is their responsibility to bring proper equipment and be aware of water and weather conditions. Off season requests (November 1st - April 15th) will need to be individually approved by Wake Sports Colorado as winterization and service may not permit use during certain times. Northern lake boating will close by November 1st each year and will be scheduled to open on April 30th each year. (Pending state park policies and availability.) Any boating time in winter months deducts days from your account. Scheduling for the next boating season opens on November 1st each year. Boating Days expire each year on December 31st. Each Member may have up to three (3) reservations open at a time for the current boating season. A reservation is day or consecutive day you have reserved the boat.

Late Payment

Boats may be taken as soon as all new Member orientations are complete, and the Member is in good standing during the boating season. Any late payments prohibit a Member from taking a boat and all future scheduled days may be cancelled. Members must be in good standing to reserve and take out club boats. Members over 90 days late on payment will be suspended.

Past due Members cannot sell their Membership. Once all payments are received Members will be able to book and resume use on boats. Wake Sports Colorado reserves the right to make other accommodations for Members that will need to leave the country for the boating season. (i.e. military deployment)

Accidents

Accidents that require immediate medical attention should call 911. All other non-critical accidents should be reported to Wake Sports Colorado immediately.

For on the water accidents:

Please take photos of the incident and exchange driver information and insurance information with the other party. This information is found in the confirmation in the Wake Sports Colorado App. Wake Sports Colorado will collect deductible replacement and report them to the insurance provider as needed. All insurance issues will be handled by Wake Sports Colorado. Insurance Cards in boats are to satisfy the state requirements only.

For land accidents – members are responsible to have auto insurance and will take care of the accident through their own insurance.
